The Great Awakening - Prayer and Share

The Great Awakening

The great awakening is a revival taking place in the Midwest. People are searching for truth and justice. This revival is based on prayer.

The Plan

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you, plans to give you a hope and a future."

Jeremiah 29:11

Good News for the Oppressed

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me to bring the good news to the poor.

He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed. He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the Lord's favor has come, and with it, the day of God's anger against their enemies.

To all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive prayer instead of despair.

Isaiah 61

William Seymour - 100 Year Prophecy

The Great Awakening - Revival William Seymour prophesied, "In 100 years God will pour out his Spirit like in the days of Azusa, but far greater!" William Seymour died September 28,1922. Adding 100 years is September 28,2022. The Azusa revival happened in Los Angeles on April 9, 1906.

Seymour and seven men friends were waiting on God on Bonnie Brae Street. They were knocked from their chairs to the floor and spoke in tongues. The news spread and crowds approached and fell down as they approached the service and were baptized in the Holy Spirit and the sick were healed. This continued until roughly 1915.

Revival Prayer

A powerful move of God off the coast of Scotland in the Isle of Lewis was characterized by the fear of the Lord resting spontaneously upon entire regions, bringing conviction of sin and dramatic conversions. Men and women would fall into trances and be radically transformed by the depth of their revelation of God. This was known as the Hebrides revival.

For I will pour water on the thirsty land
And streams on the dry ground;
I will pour out My Spirit on your offspring,
And My blessing on your descendants
Isaiah 44:3
